Lung cancer molecular reports you can act on in eight days

One DNA + RNA panel for non-small cell lung cancer, sequenced at an accredited partner laboratory and interpreted for Indian patients — with a one-page answer to the question that matters: is there a targetable alteration, and which drug is approved for it in India?

Illustrative layout only — not a real patient or result.

The drugs exist. Too many patients never get the test.

EGFR-mutant lung adenocarcinoma is two to three times more common in Indian patients than in Western cohorts, and targeted drugs are available. The gap is testing and interpretation.

54%

of 3,220 Indian NSCLC samples in a published series were tested for EGFR.

11.5%

were tested for ROS1 by FISH — most fusions are simply never looked for.

19 days

is the quoted turnaround for an online-ordered lung NGS panel at around ₹29,000.

From biopsy block to signed report

We manage the whole path so your team does not have to chase it. We do not own a sequencer: sequencing happens at a NABL-accredited partner laboratory whose molecular pathologist signs every report.

  1. Adequacy check

Your pathologist confirms tumour content before the block leaves the hospital, so failures cost hours, not weeks.

  2. Tracked pickup

Barcoded collection and chain of custody to the partner laboratory.

  3. Sequencing

DNA and RNA panel run at the accredited partner lab, with run-level QC.

  4. Analysis

Variant and fusion calling, with a hard coverage gate on every actionable target.

  5. Interpretation

Evidence-tiered (AMP/ASCO/CAP) with India drug-approval status shown separately from FDA/EMA.

  6. Signed report

The partner pathologist signs. You receive the PDF by email or WhatsApp, plus a 15-minute case call.

One page to decide. One page to defend.

An oncologist seeing eighty patients a day does not have time for a ten-page report. Page one answers the clinical question. Page two holds the evidence and quality data you need if a colleague, patient or tumour board asks.

Panel scope at launch: EGFR, ALK, ROS1, RET, MET exon 14, KRAS, BRAF, ERBB2, NTRK and context genes. We do not report MSI, TMB or copy-number calls clinically until they are validated.

  • Targetable: yes or noStated at the top, in plain words.
  • India approval statusFor every matched drug, separate from FDA/EMA.
  • Coverage shown per geneIf a target could not be assessed, the report says so — never a silent negative.
  • What to do if negativeWhich IHC or repeat sampling to consider.
  • A person to callA clinical scientist reachable on every case.

Who we work with

Medical oncologists

A faster, fusion-complete answer for newly diagnosed and progressing NSCLC patients, with someone to discuss the case with.

Pathology departments

A clear adequacy checklist, scheduled pickups and status updates — no more chasing a block that left three weeks ago.

Laboratories that already sequence

Interpretation and reporting as a service: curated, pathologist-ready drafts without building an in-house curation team.

The pilot programme

We are inviting a small number of oncologists to a ten-case pilot, run under their hospital's ethics committee, before we take a single paid case. You see every number — turnaround, failure rate, concordance — whether it flatters us or not.

First site: Jaipur. Next cities we plan to open, as partners join:

  • Delhi NCR
  • Chandigarh
  • Agra
  • Lucknow
  • Mumbai
  • Pune
  • Bengaluru
  • Kolkata

Oncologists in these cities are welcome to register interest now.

What we will and will not do

We never issue an unsigned report

Every clinical report is reviewed and signed by the accredited partner laboratory's molecular pathologist.

We do not recommend treatment

We provide structured evidence. Treatment decisions stay with the treating oncologist and tumour board.

We do not replace your pathologists

Adequacy, histology and sign-out remain with qualified pathologists.

Patient data stays protected

Handled under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, stored in India, and used for research only with explicit opt-in consent.

About GenoOnco

Across India, many lung-cancer patients could benefit from targeted therapies that are already approved and sold in the country. Most are never tested for the mutations that decide whether those drugs will work. GenoOnco exists to close that gap.

We start with lung cancer because that is where the gap between an available drug and a missing test is widest. Our first pilot opens in Jaipur. We work with local oncologists and hospitals to make molecular testing accessible, fast and clinically useful, so that treatment decisions are based on the tumour's biology.

Testing is only the first step. Targeted therapies work, but tumours learn to escape them. Our longer-term research asks how and why that resistance emerges. To answer it, we are building — with patients' informed consent — a high-quality genomic dataset from Indian patients, a population that remains badly underrepresented in global cancer research.

Founder

GenoOnco was founded by Dr Ramveer Choudhary, a molecular oncology researcher born near Jaipur and a Senior Researcher at IFOM, the AIRC Institute of Molecular Oncology in Milan, one of Europe's leading cancer research centres. He did his PhD in Systems Medicine at the University of Milan as a Marie Curie fellow, then worked as a postdoctoral fellow at IFOM. He has also carried out research at the University of Milan's Department of Oncology and Hemato-Oncology and at the CNR Institute of Molecular Genetics in Pavia.

He works with collaborators across Europe, Asia and the Americas. Before Milan, he completed an M.S. at the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS-TIFR) in Bengaluru and graduated first in his class in biotechnology from the University of Rajasthan. With GenoOnco he is bringing that experience back to India, to patients who are tested too late or not at all.
